What is NeuroStar?

A new possibility for the treatment of depression.

If you're dealing with depression, you may have tried different medicines and therapies to feel better, but they don't always work well and can have tough side effects. It can feel like a tiring and endless process of trying different things.

Drug-free Depression Treatment That Works For You.

TMS is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation therapy, a non-drug treatment for major depression. TMS uses focused magnetic pulses, similar to an MRI, to reignite dormant synapses in the brain and help your brain function the way it was meant to.

It is not a drug, “shock” therapy, or surgery. It is a safe, effective treatment for MDD without the common side effects of medication.

How soon will you see results?

Many NeuroStar patients start to see improvement within 2 to 3 weeks of treatment. That can include changes in mood, fewer days of depression, and increased desire to engage with other people more often. In fact, your friends and family may notice your results before you do!

Completing the full NeuroStar treatment course gives the best chance for delivering long-lasting relief from depression.

As with any therapy, completion is key. Completing the full 6-week course of NeuroStar treatment gives the best chance for delivering long lasting relief from depression.

FAQs

Does NeuroStar work? During NeuroStar treatment, a magnet similar in strength to those used in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines is used to stimulate nerve cells in the area of the brain thought to control mood. These magnetic pulses have a positive effect on the brain's neurotransmitter levels, making long-term remission possible with TMS.

Does NeuroStar hurt? While some discomfort is normal as your body first acclimates to the sensation of TMS, every effort is made to make sure our patients are as comfortable as possible.

Is NeuroStar covered by insurance? NeuroStar TMS is covered by most insurance major insurance plans, such as Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, TRICARE and many more. To find out your specific insurance requirements and/or co-pay, please schedule your TMS consultation to receive your full benefits investigation.”
